Philosophy

At The Little Dance Project, we believe a child’s first experience with dance should be joyful, encouraging, and inspiring. Our goal is to create a positive learning environment where children can discover the joy of movement and develop a lifelong love of dance.

Every class is thoughtfully and artfully designed to meet children where they are while celebrating their individual strengths and gently encouraging them to explore new skills. Through creative instruction, engaging music, imaginative themes, and age-appropriate dance activities, our dancers are given the freedom to move, create, express themselves, and have fun.

Our classes support the whole child and help develop coordination, balance, strength, sensory awareness, spatial awareness, social skills, confidence, and self-expression while building a strong foundation of dance skills.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is organized around monthly themes, movement concepts, and progressive dance skills. We give our dancers opportunities to revisit familiar skills while continuously discovering something new. From exploring different pathways and levels to practicing foundational ballet, jazz, and hip hop movements, every lesson plan  is designed to inspire and challenge our little dancers.

Each class incorporates a purposeful blend of foundational dance skills, functional fitness, creative movement, choreography, and musicality. Dancers are introduced to skills and concepts that grow with them and build their coordination, balance, strength, flexibility, body awareness, spatial awareness, rhythm, and confidence over time.

Most importantly, our curriculum is designed to make children excited to move, explore, learn and dance!
